EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL
Despite II World War ended almost 70 years ago
it sometimes reminds us of itself, especially
when explosive ordnance is found at construction
site. This is still serious threat to people and
companies that implement their investments
in Poland. Most of activities is carried out within
areas, which have not been surveyed since
the war. Once deep excavations are under way,
there is a great hazard of coincidential
detonation of ordnance, what puts human life
at risk.
Boskalis together with Heinrich Hirdes has been
providing services of detection and disposal of
explosive ordnance in Eurpe and Africa since 1978.
The works has resulted in removing thousands
pieces of ammunition from both ground and sea.
The company uses professional equipment that
allows to detect ordnance up to 6 m below the
bottom.
Multipurpose vessel, "MSC SeaQuest",
equipped with suitable sensors is
a complementary vessel to "Z-Willi" and
"SeaSpy" which are the largest in our fleet.
This catamaran is perfectly stable no
matter of weather conditions. Sensor
systems are capable to detect and locate
objects to 20 m depth within 8 m width of
view, what provides quick survetying of the
bottom. "MSC SeaQuest" was design as
magnetometric survey vessel, but it also
can serve as:
- platform for multibeam echosounders and
sub-bottom profilers
- stable platform for drilling
- stable vessel for towing ROVs
- diving base.
